Adaptive Programs

Bernards Township Parks & Recreation is pleased to offer Adaptive Programs for Bernards Township Residents age 15 and older with developmental disabilities.  For the current program offerings, a parent, guardian, or caretaker must remain with the participant for the duration of the program.

Sundays; February 22nd-March 15th

You must be registered with the Recreation Department prior to registering for a program, trip, membership or court reservation. Instructions are included at the top of the form.
 

Bernards Township Parks & Recreation welcomes people with all abilities to participate in our programs. Certain programs or activities may have essential eligibility requirements. If you need a reasonable accommodation or modification in order to enjoy a program, please call 908-204-3003. Two weeks notice is required to ensure that appropriate accommodations can be provided.

Somerset County Park Commission Therapeutic Recreation

The Department of Parks and Recreation has a cooperative agreement with the Somerset County Park Commission's Therapeutic Recreation (TR) Department to provide recreation and leisure opportunities for children and adults who have a developmental disability. The SCPC TR Department is dedicated to providing year round recreation and leisure opportunities for people with developmental disabilities. The goal of the TR Department is to promote an active leisure lifestyle that improves social, physical, cognitive and emotional functioning while enhancing each person's abilities in order for them to become integrated into their community.

Somerset Hills YMCA

The Somerset Hills YMCA, a branch of the Greater Somerset County YMCA, located on Mount Airy Road in Basking Ridge, offers adaptive programs for all ages.
