Municipal Alliance Against Substance Abuse/Youth Services Commissions

The Bernards Township Municipal Alliance Against Substance Abuse, or "Alliance," was founded in 1991, and is a mayoral-appointed volunteer-based coalition of local parents, youth, health professionals, social service workers, law enforcement, school personnel, clergy, and other concerned leaders who support tobacco, alcohol, and drug prevention efforts in the community. The goals of the Alliance are three-fold:

  • To educate about the damaging and addictive effects of tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs
  • To support events and programs, which provide healthy alternatives
  • To create a community-wide presence in the identification of problems and in designing solutions

Meeting Schedule:

The Alliance meets on the first Thursday of every month (except July and August or otherwise noted) from 9:30 am-11:30 am at the Bernards Township Community Center, South Maple Avenue. All meetings are public.

  • September 11 (second Thursday)
  • October 2
  • November 6
