Deer Management Advisory Committee Bylaws
BY-LAWS OF THE DEER MANAGEMENT ADVISORY
OF BERNARDS TOWNSHIP
The name of this Committee shall be the Bernards Township Deer
Management Advisory Committee (hereinafter referred to as the "DMAC").
The purpose of this committee shall be:
- (A) Advise the Township Committee (hereinafter referred to as
on all matters related to deer management within the township.
- (B) Perform the duties described in Resolution 040042 adopted by
the TC on
January 2, 2004.
- (C) Perform other duties related to deer management as directed
by the TC.
- (A) Number - The DMAS shall consist of seven (7) members and
one (1) alternate member appointed by the TC, and shall also include
a TC Liaison to be selected by the TC and an advisor from the
Bernards Township Police Department;
- (B) Vacancy - A vacancy shall not prevent the DMAC from conducting
Term - Each DMAC member shall serve for a one (1) year term. A
member may be reappointed by the TC.
Compensation - All members of the DMAC shall serve without compensation.
Regular Meetings - Regular meetings of the DMAC shall ordinarily
be held monthly, or on an as needed basis.
Special Meetings - Special meetings of the DMAC may be held on
call of the TC, the Chairperson of the DMAC, or by any three (3)
members of the DMAC.
Public Meetings - Meetings shall be publicized and conducted in
accordance with Bernards Township Ordinance §2-32.2.
Quorum - a quorum for the purpose of holding a meeting shall consist
of not less than four (4) DMAC members.
Action - a quorum present, the act of a majority of the members
present shall constitute the action of the entire DMAC, except as
may be otherwise provided in these By-Laws.
Public Comment - There shall be at least one period in each meeting
when public comment will be allowed. The time for this shall
appear on the agenda, or the Chairperson shall announce the time
at the start of the meeting. In addition, the Chairperson
may allow public comment at any time that he or she deems appropriate.
