9. Education Report

May be able to
get CEU credits for 8/13’s Tree identification class with Dave Welch (5 people
/ 1 hour).

Core Training. Will finalize at
September’s meeting who will attend.
10. New Tree Plantings
- Randy
gave the “Charter Day” list to Fred, will finalize at September’s meeting.

Fred will maintain the list of “tree work” and will email to Dave Ferratti
monthly for updates.
- will finalize plans for Fall planting at the September
meeting – all commissioners should have their lists compiled and forwarded to
Fred. We would like to begin seeking
quotes by 9/12. Fall planting should
take place late October – November. Dave
Welch will again inspect the stock prior to planting.

Parker Landscaping has agreed to replace the tree near
the Community Service Building (31A Stone House Rd).
- the “Ginny Haas Memorial Tree” at Town Hall may need to be
replaced, Jack will take a closer look at it.

Tree Removals/Prunings
- No
updates.
12. Updated Community Forestry
Plan
- Sent
to State on 8/13, Subcommittee will stand until acceptance by the State.
13.
Old Business
- K&J Landscapers’ trees at Paws Park need to be
replaced – still no update.
- the snow fencing around the
trees should be removed and replaced with the Deer Guards.
- The dead trees near the Power company’s
substation by Dewy Meadow have been removed.
14.
New Business
- “Ordinance Subcommittee” (Randy, Mark, Charlie, Jack,
Chris) is reviewing current ordinances; current “Tree Advisory” board consists
of representatives from Engineering, Planning Board and Environmental
Commission. Randy will contact the
Environmental Commission.
- Mark shared an article about the Jackson Tree Fund
from the Star Ledger.
