Call to Order:

The meeting was
called to order by Randy at 7:10 PM.

We welcomed our
new Township Committee Liaison, Scott Spitzer.

Randy was elected
Chairman for 2008, Mark was elected Co-Chair for 2008.

Roll Call
Present: Randy Santoro, Chris McManemin, Fred Burgerhoff, Jack Gray, Charlie Cunion, Scott Spitzer, Judy O’Connell.
Absent: Mark Harabedian, Dennis Dinsmore.

Minutes from December

Reviewed and accepted as written.
4.
Bills

None.
5. Correspondence
-
reviewed emails from residents about potential tree issues.
6. Grant Report
(Green Communities)
-
Received commitment letter from Dave Welsh.
-
Annual Report will be presented to Township Committee on 1/29 (resolution is
written), due to State 2/15.
7.
Charter Day
-
discussed preliminary plans.
8.
Education
Report
-
will offer training to Steve Gray (from DPW), he has been Core trained and is
interested in continuing.
-
“Municipal Shade Tree Management” being offered in 2008, Randy or Mark will
attend.
9.
New Tree Plantings
-
Parker Landscaping will be using Mountain Park as a staging area, volunteers
will meet and prioritize plantings by days.

Fred is working on a letter to the homeowners about caring for their new trees.

Deer Guards have been ordered from A.M. Leonard.
10.
Tree Removals/Prunings
-
Trees on Woods End were taken down.
-
need to be consistent with handling requests from residents.
11. Updated Community Forestry
Plan
-
Randy spoke with Dave Welsh and Steve Chisholm, will send updated documents to
Dave Welsh for his review.
12.
Old Business
-
Discussed field on Haas Road – might
be a good project for Eagle Scouts.
13.
New Business
- Suggested areas for new plantings include the former
Cangiano tract, the Gerhard Farm as well as the field on Haas Road.
