Road Closure Information for Bernards Township

 Road Closure Information
Roadway milling operations on Independence Drive and Devon Court will begin on Monday, August 31, starting at 7:00 am. The milling will be followed by road base repair areas (as necessary) and final surface paving. These processes will take several days - additional notice will be provided prior to final paving operations. For the duration of construction, NO PARKING will be permitted on the roadway. Any vehicles parked on the roadway will be towed at the owner's expense. During working hours, approximately 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, please anticipate delays and road closures. Direct access to driveways will be limited during the day. It is strongly recommended that you make alternate parking arrangements should you need access to your vehicle during the hours of 7:00 am to approximately 5:00 pm. Please follow all posted signage and traffic control devices. Vehicles attempting to access or leave the road while construction is in progress may endure damages from debris, tack coat, hot mix asphalt, or equipment. The Township is not responsible for damage to or cleaning of vehicles caused by failure to comply with these requirements. The road will be available for access at the end of each day. Mail, garbage, landscaping, and other services may be interrupted by the construction. Final restoration will be completed following the final paving operations. ALSO, paving of Hamilton Road and the remaining pavement improvements for Huntington Road have been rescheduled for Tuesday, September 1, starting at 7:00 am. During road resurfacing operations, the road will be COMPLETELY CLOSED until paving is completed; entry and exit access WILL be delayed for several hours. Vehicles attempting to access or leave the road while work is in progress may endure damages from the tack coat, hot mix asphalt, or equipment. The Township is not responsible for damage to or cleaning of vehicles caused by failure to comply with these requirements. It is strongly advised that you relocate your vehicle from your garage or driveway either the evening before, or early in the morning before 7:00 am should you need to leave during construction hours, approximately 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. Paving of Huntington Road, Bridalwood Court, and Hamilton Road will begin on Friday, August 28, starting at 7:00 am. The work will stop for the weekend and will then continue on Monday, August 31. Over the weekend, construction operations will not be in progress and there will be full access to the roads. The work will take approximately 2 days total (Friday and Monday). During paving operations, the road will be COMPLETELY CLOSED until paving is completed; entry and exit access WILL be delayed for several hours. Vehicles attempting to access or leave the road while paving is in progress may endure damages from the tack coat, hot mix asphalt, or equipment. The Township is not responsible for damage to or cleaning of vehicles caused by failure to comply with these requirements. Huntington Rd and Hamilton Rd milling will begin on Wednesday, August 26, starting at 7:00 am. The work will take several days and will be followed by final surface paving. Liberty Corner Rd in Far Hills will be closed between Rt. 202 and Douglas Rd. for emergency bridge repair for approximately four weeks beginning August 3.
Sidewalk, curb, inlet, and manhole repairs for the road construction project will begin on or about Monday, July 13, starting with Grove Road and Winding Lane. The roads will be open to local traffic with occasional delays. Please use caution as construction will be in progress. On street parking will be strictly prohibited. Mt. Airy Rd. in Bernardsville will be closed starting January 5, 2014. The road closure is expected last throughout all of 2015.
