INSPECTIONS

To schedule an inspection call Cindy @ 908-204-3172 between the hours of 7:30 am to 3:00 pm, Monday thru Friday.

The following are REQUIRED INSPECTIONS PURSUANT TO N.J.A.C. 5:23 - 2.18 NEW BUILDINGS - ADDITIONS - RENOVATIONS - ALTERATIONS (Other inspections may be required depending on the scope of the project. Consult the Subcode Officials if you have any questions.):

  1. Footing Inspection - Bottom of trench - PRIOR to the pouring of concrete.
  2. Steel in Masonry- Bond Beam, Reinforcement-PRIOR to pouring of concrete.
  3. Wall Forms - PRIOR to the pouring of concrete.
  4. Block Wall – MIDPOINT for vertical reinforcement.
  5. Foundation/Backfill Inspection - PRIOR to the placement of backfill.                                                                                    (New Construction Foundation Location Survey Required prior to inspection)
  6. Slab inspection - PRIOR to the placement of concrete.
  7. Electrical rough wiring.
  8. Plumbing rough installation and/or Gas Pressure Test
  9. Framing inspection - AFTER passing Electrical and Plumbing and BEFORE insulation.                                        (New Construction Framing Checklist required at Inspection)
  10. Insulation inspection - PRIOR to the installation of gypsum board.
  11. Final Electric, Plumbing & Fire.
  12. Final Building inspection - ONLY AFTER FINALS HAVE BEEN APPROVED BY: ELECTRIC, PLUMBING AND FIRE. (NO EXCEPTIONS)

Inspections are done between 8:00 am and 2:00 pm on the day that you are scheduled.  You will be given a 3 hour time frame of 8:00am-11:00 am or 11:00 am-2:00 pm. No appointments are given.  (NO EXCEPTIONS)

Building and Fire Inspections– Monday  through Friday

Electrical Inspections – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday

Plumbing Inspections – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday

You must have the following information in order to request an inspection. (PERMIT #, BLOCK / LOT, NAME & ADDRESS AND TYPE OF INSPECTION.) Provide any other information that may be needed.

ONLY CALL FOR INSPECTIONS WHEN THE WORK IS READY.  DO NOT ANTICIPATE!!      N.J.A.C. 5:23-2.18 (c) 1.

If your inspection is not approved, do not call for a re-inspection until the problems are repaired and the work is ready for re-inspection.
